The parasitic Bombus (Psithyrus) variabilis is a more southern species that extends from the central latitudes of the U.S., south through Mexico and into Central America. In the U.S., this distribution coincides with its putative host, B. pensylvanicus. In Nebraska it is limited to the east, and in Wisconsin, it reaches only the southern counties. |
